It doesn’t matter how hot it is outside, October makes me want to grab my scarves and blankets, delicious coffee and start decorating the porch with pumpkins, mums, hay bales and scarecrows.
Fall is the time to head to a pumpkin patch, get on a hayride, eat pumpkin bread and drink wassail.
Within my friend group, I’d have to say Fall is the most beloved season. I mean, as soon as you read that first paragraph you felt those little autumn butterflies fluttering around in your heart.
I love it when the colors are vibrant with reds, oranges, yellows and fading greens. Sometimes I even see some purple leaves. Fall is so beautiful. I saw a picture the other day that said, “The trees show us how beautiful it is to let something go.”
Isn’t that true? Autumn is such a great season! And to think, God created this.
“Then God said, ‘Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night. They will serve as signs for seasons and for days and years. They will be lights in the expanse of the sky to provide light on the earth.’ And it was so. God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule over the day and the lesser light to rule over the night—as well as the stars. God placed them in the expanse of the sky to provide light on the earth, to rule the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. Evening came and then morning: the fourth day. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.” (Genesis 1:14-19).
On the fourth day, God created the sun, the moon, the stars and the seasons. He gave us a way to measure time with days and nights.
Wow! Can we stop for a second and praise God for this?
He created light on the first day. But now, He made the sun a source of light and the moon to reflect it.
He made the stars. Billions of them. God did that.
The Heavens declare the glory of God, literally. God is the beautiful artist who, with just a few strokes of his hand, created a masterpiece. God created a breathtaking world for us to live in.
