Where Do You Seek Joy?
18116 Views

“But more than that, I count everything as loss compared to the priceless privilege and supreme advantage of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord (and of growing more deeply and thoroughly acquainted with Him – a joy unequaled).” – Philippians 3:8 (AMP)

Where do you seek joy? Your gaze illuminates your heart and witness. Is your joy evident in your circle of influence? You see, each day is a quiz and some seasons feel like exams, no passes. Heavenly perspectives are different…perhaps God is “training” you to have heavenly eyes. Spoiler Alert: Joy is even present in the “waiting times” of our lives, while He alone is working. God’s math is very different from ours. Sickness + suffering + ? = God’s goodness and glory if we view the backdrop as eternal. Ask Joseph, ask Paul, ask yourself (when you want to be totally honest).

Yes, joy is a gift that transcends tragedies, illnesses, and excuses. Joy is God’s goodness and presence alive and at work in His children. If we believe God is sovereign (as His Word proclaims) we will make each day joyful, regardless of the excuses, because God defines our good. As Lauren Daigle so eloquently reminds us in her musical masterpiece…simply…”Look up, Child“! Your only response will be joy.
