Turn to the Creator
210 Views

How does almost every movie that involves artificial intelligence end? The creator has this big dream and makes this incredible machine or robot, and for awhile things are good. But then, the creation forgets the creator. It begins to think for itself and believes it knows more, is better than the creator and no longer listens to or obeys the creator.

John 1:10-11

“He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not.”

This isn’t taken out of some AI movie, this is real. Remember John’s purpose for writing this book – to show us who Jesus is. So, the “He” refers to Jesus.

Jesus was in the world. He created the world. But the world didn’t know Jesus. He came to the very people He created, but they rejected Him. They didn’t want to know Him. They refused to believe He was the Messiah.

Why?

How could they not know their creator?

Because they were too busy focusing on their own plans, desires, and will. They believed they were smarter, better, more capable of delivering what God offers – peace, freedom, love.

Does this sound familiar?

The world today encourages these things but in an artificial and unholy way. The world has distorted the truth about peace, freedom and love. They’ve completely disregarded the Creator and believe their way is better. Our world rejects Jesus and His truth.

But the movie doesn’t end with the creation rejecting the creator, does it?

The creator regrets what he’s created and must destroy the creation. It’s the right thing to do.

Isn’t it?

In Genesis, God saw how evil the world was and He righteously destroyed all the living things in the earth with a flood. But…

There was a remnant.

God provided salvation for mankind.

The ark, perfectly designed, held the ones who believed Him.

Safe. Secured.

And even when that creation once again turned on the Creator, He provided a way of salvation. One who was perfect and could save those that trusted in Him.

Jesus.

And what did creation do once again? They forgot their Creator and chose their way above His.

And here we are. Still doing the same thing.

The Creator will bring judgment on the creation. Creation will be destroyed because of their unbelief and selfish desires.

But because of Jesus, there is hope.

John 1:12-13

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Today, let’s turn from the things of this world and turn to our Creator. The One who offers true peace, freedom and love.

Jesus.
