“…For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth…” Pilate said to him (Jesus), “What is truth?” After he had said this, he went back outside to the Jews and told them, “I find no guilt in him.” — John 18:37–38

Oh, Pilate. Gut-wrenching. To be so close and yet so far. And we still ask the same question today.

WHAT IS TRUTH?

We see truth as elusive, a moving target, left up to personal interpretation, unattainable. Truth becomes whatever is loudest, most emotional, most affirmed. Personal opinion matters more than absolute reality. When truth becomes subjective, societies crumble under the tumult of competing narratives.

WHO IS TRUTH?

Maybe we can’t agree on truth because we don’t know what we are looking for. The very question is flawed: “WHAT is truth?”

Not WHAT is truth. WHO is truth.

Jesus says, “I AM THE TRUTH.” When pressed by Pilate, He doubles down: “I came to bear witness to the truth.”

Truth is not an idea or opinion. Truth is not up for arbitration. Truth is fixed. It is absolute. It is unchanging.

TRUTH IS A PERSON.

Jesus is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIFE.

Find Jesus. Find Truth.

Follow Jesus. Follow Truth.

We can choose to ignore Him, refuse to accept Him, try to avoid Him, or even deny Him. But Scripture says that one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

He is not hidden. He is right there. Pilate was so close and still missed Him.

Don’t make the same mistake.

**Seek Jesus. Find Truth.**
