The Greatest Mystery Ever Revealed: Christ in You
56 Views

I love a good mystery. Whether it’s a book, TV series, or a movie, the anticipation and suspense build as time goes on. And then, at just the right moment, the truth is revealed.

The mystery is solved.

And sometimes, if the author is really good, you’re left in awe of the masterful plan.

Did a book come to mind as you read this?

I’m not talking about some John Grisham page-turner or a Colleen Coble suspense series.

I’m talking about the Bible.

Wait, you didn’t know it was a mystery book?

The Scripture itself says so:

“…the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations”

What was Paul talking about?

You don’t have to be a super sleuth or Sherlock Holmes to discover this mystery. In simple terms, that’s pretty much what Paul was telling the believers at Colosse. These false teachers, who had twisted Scripture and added their own ideas, believed that only a few privileged people could attain spiritual perfection. They claimed it was some mystery or secret plan only the holiest could understand.

But Paul refuted that.

“…the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

The mystery, the secret plan, was that God’s redemption and forgiveness would be available to all people, Jews and Gentiles. His salvation was made possible through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. This was the mystery: Christ would live in us.

“Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

But this isn’t just a story, some mystery novel to sit on a shelf after being read once. This is the living, breathing, life-changing Word of God.

The Lord is the masterful Author, and He’s still writing your story.

The moment we understand the mystery that Christ came to save us and promises to be with us always, we are left in awe. How incredible He must be if He could save someone like me?

Our response is to either deny these truths that have been presented or believe them and hold tightly to them. To do so, we put our faith in Jesus to save us and trust Him to transform us into His image.

Have you made it to that part of your story yet? Are you searching for hope, healing, and rescue? Here’s something that can help.
