Spotless. Blameless. Redeemed.

The list is long. In fact, I don’t know if it could even be numbered. It just keeps going and going as far back as I can remember.

Guilty.

If you had to make a list of everything you were guilty of, how long would it be? With me, you wouldn’t have to search too hard or debate too long. The evidence is there. There is no doubt. There are witnesses. The truth is, I am guilty.

“And it was the third hour, and they crucified him. And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”(Mark 15:25-26)

When a criminal was convicted and sentenced to death by crucifixion, they would write the crime above their heads. Crucifixion was a public display and deterrent for people. It screamed “if you do this crime, you will be punished!”

King of the Jews.

There was no crime. They could not find one thing Jesus was guilty of. Not one thing. So, this is the best they could come up with. The Jews had demanded his execution because they said He claimed to be God.

In their minds, He wasn’t.

But one day, they will see. Many believed in Him when after 3 days in the grave, the stone was rolled away and Jesus had risen!

And yet, many still denied Him.

But one day, He will come again, with all power and authority to judge the earth. Every knee will bow, every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord.

Those that have rejected Him will have their crimes written for all to see.

And those that believed will stand before our King, our list of crimes wiped clean by His blood and forgiveness.

Spotless.

Blameless.

Redeemed.
