No Rejection Guaranteed

Are you already dreading this Tuesday with all of its candy, cards, flowers, fancy dinners, and advertising for special valentines? Sadly for some folks this week, the world’s attention turns to Valentine’s Day, or as I have experiences many years ago…Single Awareness Day. Every conceivable vendor is only a click away from assisting you with the perfect plan and product to assure that you aren’t rejected and escorted to the dog house.

Perhaps a better source for the believer might be Psalms 37:4 which states, “Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.” I believe having a heart like His involves our speech and definitely encompasses service. Ask anyone requesting legitimate relief at a shelter, or sitting with someone confined to a nursing home or hospital bed. I feel sure that the “valentine” gift of your presence tops their list. Having a heart like His requires perseverance for this journey called life. Go ahead and plan for detours, pot holes, and a sprinkling of “feeling lost” emotions to crop up. Then, purposely ask God to lead your steps and continue to finish strong with an imputed and undeniable radiance of gratitude. Spend time with the one that sought you (no rejection, guaranteed), that loves you like crazy, and validates that you are worth pursuing every day. Spoiler alert: Every day is a love day when your focus and validation comes from Jesus. A heart like His…that is His wish, hope, and provision for you this Valentine’s week and beyond. Choose to reply “yes” to His invitation daily and look forward with anticipation to all the blessings from your Most Special Someone, Jesus!
