It will Happen in it’s Own Time

Tiny little green sprigs poking out of the cold, dark earth. It’s bright color a stark contrast with the hues of brown, yellow and black of the dead leaves and earth. It’s too cold for it yet, but soon, it will be in full bloom.

It’s always fascinated me the different growth periods for plants and trees. Some take just a few days to weeks to begin sprouting, but others take months to years. And to bring forth fruit, well, that could take far longer.

If you plant a seed for 10 different plants, you expect them to grow at different rates. And of course, it all depends on the climate they are in. If you plant some outside and some inside, they will sprout at different times.

Just like the path to becoming a Christian.

“And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.” (Mark 4:26-29)

It takes time. Don’t expect it to happen overnight. It takes nurturing with food and water and time in the sun for the plant to finally bloom and grow and then be ready for harvest. You can’t rush it. You can’t force it. It will happen in its own time.

The realization that you need salvation.

It takes time. Don’t expect it to happen overnight. It takes nurturing with the bread of life and the living water and time spent with the Son for the person to finally bloom and grow and then be ready for harvest. You can’t rush it. You can’t force it. It will happen in its own time. When a person is ready to be saved, there is no stopping it.

Christian growth.

I am impatient, a control-freak, and I want things to happen on my time and my plan. But that’s not how God works.

So, what do we do?

We do the work God sent us to do.

We till the land. We spread the seed. We water the ground. We clear the weeds. We watch it grow. We help protect it from predators and then we help reap the harvest when it’s time.

Everything and everyone has their own rate of growth. I’m praying for you through yours. If you want help, need guidance, or where to even begin, message me and I would love to help.

Let’s grow together!
