Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also….How can we know the way?” Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:1-6
FEW THINGS ARE CERTAIN IN LIFE, but these we know—trouble and death. They remind us that we are inherently feeble and finite. Both are inevitable. Neither can be stopped.
Feelings of pain and loss are real but not the same for everyone.
BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND
Hope is the key.
In what do we hope? In what do we believe? In what do we trust?
Not a cross-your-fingers-and-hold-your-breath kind of hope.
A blessed-assurance hope that says:
I KNOW the way!
I KNOW the truth!
I KNOW the life!
I KNOW HOW THE STORY ENDS
Ever watched *The Sixth Sense* a second time?
Ever watched a ball game when you know the final score?
When you know the ending, it makes the drama of the story or the game easier to navigate.
Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. Follow Me.”
And herein lies my hope: Jesus, on whom I believe!
I KNOW HOW MY STORY WILL END.
Do you?
