How good is your word?
Many years ago, it was all that was needed to seal a deal. Two would agree on something and it would be finalized with a handshake and “I give you my word.” It was a deep commitment, one that would be taken to the grave if it came to it.
But what does it look like now? Is our word still worth its weight in gold as they say? Does it really mean anything anymore?
There is One who’s Word will always be worth more than life. One that will stand the tests of time. One that remains true, committed, even to the end.
Luke 21:33
“Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.”
We’ve been talking about the future, Jesus’ return, and the end times. Jesus has just explained to the disciples of the signs that would signify His return. Men would know by His words that He would come just as He said He would. And that no matter what came to pass, His word would remain.
His truth never changes.
Gods Word is worthy, withstands the pressure of change, and its an eternal commitment.
If God says it, I believe it.
Just this morning, I was thinking about things I know to be true about the Lord. Too often we can get wrapped up into what we don’t know. We can explore deep rabbit holes asking question after question, sometimes allowing fear and doubt to creep in.
Focus on what you know. What do we know about God from His Holy Word? What has He spoken to us through the years to remind us of who He is, what He’s done and what He plans to do?
His Word is good.
