God’s Big Plan
3190 Views

Any time I give a gift, I want it to be from the heart, to have purpose and use. Of course, if I’m pressed for time, a gift card or money will do fine, but again, it can be useful. I don’t want to give just to give.

Luke 23:50-54

“And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just: (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God. This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid. And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.”

Joseph. A wealthy man who was part of the Jewish Council. Even he was part of God’s plan. This tomb would have cost a lot of money. Yet, he was willing to give it to bury Jesus. Although he didn’t know it at the time, this tomb would be used for something magnificent, something epic, something miraculous.

Last night, I had the opportunity to share with a group of young ladies about how we fit into God’s big plan. Our lives have purpose and He desires to use us to accomplish His mission on earth.

Just as He used this man named Joseph.

Just as He wants to use you today.

How did Joseph come about this wealth, this tomb, to be standing close by? It was all because of God. Just like all that you possess, whether it’s money, material things or talent, it’s all because of the Lord that you have it.

Jospeh knew immediately what He should do for Jesus. He knew a burial was needed and he had the tomb.

Are we willing to do the same? We have something the Lord wants to use, but will we surrender our grasp on it? Will we offer it to the Lord and accept His offer to be used to accomplish His great plan?

Today, we have that choice to make. Will you say yes to the Lord? Whatever He’s asking, it has purpose.
