A dear friend of mine and her daughter, who are two of the most awesome people ever, packed up and moved to New York. She is working as a nurse there. Why did she leave? She had a job here, her family is here, her home is here, her friends are here, and she had a good work to do here.

As scary as the move moved seemed and the fears of not having a place to live, having to quarantine for 2 weeks once there, and leaving behind a daughter starting college, she still went.

Why?

Because God called her to go and she obeyed.

The most beautiful parts of the story are how He worked out a wonderful place for her daughter to live, a job for her and a place where she could also bring Him glory. There were times of stress for sure, and still are, but one thing remains the same, the Lord has created us to go.

I noticed that all throughout the book of Exodus in the way the pieces were designed and built for the tabernacle. Each large piece was built with Rings in the corners for the large staves, or wooden poles, to be pushed through and to make it mobile.

“And two golden rings shalt thou make to it under the crown of it, by the two corners thereof, upon the two sides of it shalt thou make it; and they shall be for places for the staves to bear it withal. And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold. And thou shalt put it before the vail that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with thee.” (Exodus 30:4-6)

The temple itself and the land they were in were not what was holy. But it was wherever the Lord was and wherever He called them to go.

I will never understand all of God’s ways. I know His thoughts are high above mine. But I do know, I’m thankful for those that have answered His call and they have obeyed. Through the BMA, we have missionaries across the globe that sacrificed their own wants and desires and gave it all to the Lord. They have packed up and moved out to share the gospel with the people God called them to. I’ve had the chance to meet a few of them throughout the years, and even more now with Mission World TV. I’m overwhelmed by their desire to serve God and to love Him.

A recent picture of a young woman and her girls really hit me hard. She lives in Papua New Guinea with her husband and children, along with some other missionary families. They live among the Wantakian people. But what stood out to me was the realness of the picture. There were no fancy clothes, expensive accessories, or worry about how they would look if someone posted the picture. They were just real. Living in wilderness. Living with the people God called them to.

I want to be where He wants me. I want to do what He wants. Whatever I do, Lord, let it glorify you! Let it be where you have called me! You know more than I do! You have a perfect plan and I know we are designed to go! Let us follow your will! Thank you, Father, for the missionaries that serve through BMA Missions, as they have responded and obey! Bless them where they are and where they are headed! Soften the hearts of the people to whom you wish for them to witness! We are only here for your glory Lord! Show us. Lead us. Guide us. We are yours, Lord!
