What if…
Every day, $2,400 was deposited into your bank account—$100 for every hour of the day. How would you spend it?
Visions of new cars, new homes, new clothes, computers, and travel plans come to mind. You start adding it up and think, “If I save it, I could have $16,800 by the end of the week.”
But there’s a catch.
All $2,400 has to be spent in a single day.
🤔 That changes things a bit, doesn’t it?
What could we do with that?
Although initially our thoughts might drift toward self-indulgence, what if we used it to help someone else?
Maybe pay the bill of someone who’s been struggling, fill the fridge at a children’s home, cover a month’s stay at a hotel for someone without a place to sleep, or buy a new toy for every child in the hospital.
Ideas start to swirl as we imagine all we could do. Excitement stirs in our hearts, and we begin to realize just how many needs exist once we step outside of our own bubble.
Wouldn’t that be amazing—to serve others because of this beautiful gift we received?
Galatians 5:13–14
“For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. 14 For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Grace. It’s the beautiful gift given to every person who believes in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. But that grace isn’t meant to fuel our selfish desires. It’s not a license to sin or freedom from consequences—far from it. Grace is a rescue from sin and an invitation to share God’s love with others.
Every day, we are given twenty-four hours. How will we spend them?
Will we focus only on ourselves and waste the time God has entrusted to us? Or will we look around, notice the needs of our neighbors, and offer them hope and love?
What if… we served one another in love?
Today, consider how you might serve someone else. Maybe it’s a handwritten note of encouragement, a letter to someone who lives alone, a visit on your way home from work, a meal for a family, a night off for new parents—or perhaps sharing the love of Jesus with someone who desperately needs Him.
