When All You Can Say Is “Father, Help Me”

Some days you just need to cry out to your Father.

For wisdom.
For help through a tough situation.
To pick you up and hold you close, comforting you.
To wipe off the dirt and grime and put that special salve on your wounds.
To hold your hand and walk with you as you take the next step.

When your heart is heavy and the weight feels as if it’s crushing you, you want to cry out in desperation, “Father, help me!”

“And because we are His children, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, ‘Abba, Father.’” — Galatians 4:6

Those who have put their trust in the Lord by faith—those who have believed in Him—are children of God.

As His children, we have the incredible privilege of being able to talk to God, because He is our Father.

What are you going through? What is troubling your heart and mind today?

This morning, I have been calling out to my Father about a situation that is beyond my control. I’m surrendering it to Him because He has all authority and power. He brings comfort and peace as I release my tight grip on what I think I can do or how I’m going to fix it.

Thank you, Father, for hearing our cries and for making us Your children.
