From our puppies, we have one named Bella – and she is unique. But don’t just take my word for it. She has an AKC number, a microchip number and even a pedigree that gives her parents information, grandparents and also genetic testing results.

When she goes to her new home, there is no doubt she is Bella.

One of the most important pieces of her packet that goes to her new owner is the pedigree from both mom and dad. While it confirms her as their daughter, it also identifies her as the daughter of a Grand Champion in the show ring – which is a big deal when purchasing a puppy to welcome to the family. Being from a Grand Champion entails she has great genetics, confirmation, health, and beauty which was all passed down to her.

Bella, daughter of Den- Boncasta Fountain of Emotion, Grand Champion.

What a title, huh?

As we read in Exodus chapter six, we see a genealogy, seemingly random, placed smack-dab in the middle of God telling Moses and Aaron what to do. It seems strange at first, placed in here all willy-nilly like.

But it’s not.

As God has shown us before, there’s always purpose in where something is placed.

Exodus 6:14-25 is an account of the families of the children of Israel and in verses 26-27, we see why it is stated:

“It was this Aaron and Moses whom the Lord told, ‘Bring the Israelites out of the land of Egypt according to their divisions.’ Moses and Aaron were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt in order to bring the Israelites out of Egypt.” (Exodus 6:26-27)

This. This one. This is it. I want “this” dog (Bella).

The writer is confirming that this is THE Moses and Aaron you’ve heard about.

This genealogy reaffirms who these men are and what God has called them to do which adds authority in their history.

Did you know that’s how God looks at you, too? He knows you by name.

He knows every detail about you.

He knows your family history, your friends and those you’ve had relationships with, He knows it all.

While your story is unfolding day-by-day, there is no doubt who you are. If you are a believer in Christ, He calls you His child. You are a daughter or son to the King! He said of Jesus, “THIS is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Oh how my heart desires to hear those words from our Lord!

Does your genealogy claim you as the child of the King and an heir to the throne?
