Thank you for joining us each Monday morning in October for our series, This Love.
You can find the previous posts here: part 1, part 2, part 3, and part 4.
To close our series, let’s focus on 1 Corinthians 13. Take some time to read it, and then let’s pray the prayer below.
Father, You are love. You love us with an everlasting love. You have called us to love others. You are the Source of love. You have shown us what love looks like, and now we pray You would make us people who love You above all else and who love others with Your love. To Love is the goal, the needed foundation, the essential motive, and the highest aim, but the struggle to love is always present. Lord, we give You our feeble attempts, our missteps, and our struggles to love when it is difficult.
Help us to love…
To love and patiently wait
To love and be kind
To love and not envy
To love and not boast
To love and not be proud
To love and not be rude, self-seeking, or angered
To love and keep no record of wrongs
To love and not delight in evil
To love and rejoice with the truth
To love and always protect, always trust, always hope, always persevere
Your love never fails.
Amen.
