“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you (who are willing to learn) with My eye upon you.” – Psalm 32:8 (AMP)
I’m a dog person, there’s no denying it. There’s just something about that furry, four-legged, energized companion that makes life sweeter. With every new addition to the family, training is a must! Listening to the master’s voice is crucial for effectiveness.
We might want to take a few lessons from the canine training manual to apply to our Christian journey:
- Stay in your yard. Be loyal and faithful with others.
- Unleash your talents in dedicated service.
- Sniff out new relationships for growth and study.
- Shake off worries, rest in Him more, and live in contentment.
- Walk with your Master. Stop, smell, engage, and play in His creation.
- Don’t be afraid to bark. Tell others about your Master.
- Enjoy the ride. Roll the windows down, feel His presence, choose to forgive, show compassion, and be enthusiastic!
So when things get “ruff”, or when you are struggling with pet hair being your latest fashion accessory, remember:
Your fur baby may just be a reminder of a few heavenly perspectives that will keep you out of the dog house and on the path toward many treats and rewards.
