Recently, I’ve found myself often saying, “that makes no sense”.

Oh, you too?
Good to know I’m not alone. It feels like that some days.

It feels like this world has gone mad. What is right is considered wrong, bad behavior and crime are rewarded and promoted, and praise is given for reckless and irresponsible decisions. My mind feels like it will explode as I wonder, “Who would allow such a thing? How does this even make sense? Who is making this decision? Do they even realize what will come of this? What planet are they from?”

When we have turned our face away from God, we should expect nothing less.

“For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them. O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!” (Deuteronomy 32:28-29)

This is Moses speaking about the children of Israel, but it truly feels as if he’s talking about our country today. Israel was a nation set apart for God, raised up to be His children. The United States was also founded as a nation under the authority of God. However, just as the Israelites have strayed, so have we.

A nation void of counsel. There is no understanding in them.

And what would be their end? A nation that turns from the Lord receives exactly what she deserves.

So, what should I do?

Share Jesus.

It’s that simple. Share the love of Christ with all those we come in contact with. Share the gospel, the truth that Jesus loves them, yes even when they were sinners, and He gave His life for them. Tell them of how He saved you. Tell them of the hope that you have.

This world will continue to its end, but we have a home waiting for us in heaven. Only those who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ will be spared of the wrath that is to come, an eternity in Hell.

If you are reading this, I want you to know that no matter what you’ve done, what you’ve heard or believed in the past, today, you’ve heard truth.

Jesus loves you. He gave His life for you. He wants to have a relationship with you. But it takes full surrender. Giving up the old for something far greater. Today, you must count the cost. Are you willing to give up things in this world to have a hope and joy that will never fade?

Even when it all seems like chaos surrounding us, I know that the Lord is in control. Don’t you want that?

Surrender it all today.
