Regardless of what others say about you, Jesus loves you deeply and He hurts when you hurt. Your journey may be more difficult than you thought and more lonely than it should be, but you are not alone. Your past doesn’t have to define your future . . . God gives second chances. Even when people turn their back on you, God will never leave you. Your life does have a purpose and you are significant. The problem is that we all have sinned and that’s what separates us from God.
“For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”
The Bible says that, “The wages of sin is death.” But the good news is that God made a way. God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins. Jesus lived a sinless life then died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins.
“God demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.”
Jesus rose from the dead and now He lives in heaven with God His Father. He offers us the gift of eternal life — of living forever with Him in heaven if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior.
God reaches out in love to you and wants you to be His child.
“To all who believed Him and received Him, He gave the right to become children of God.”
You can choose to ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and come in to your life as your Lord and Savior. If you want to accept Christ and turn from your sins, you can ask Him to be your Savior and Lord by praying this prayer.
Something Like This:
“Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you into my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to serve you always.”
And by the way, this is not a memorized prayer written down in some book that you have to say exactly right. It’s a heart prayer, the kind that expresses your complete surrender to stop fighting and do things God’s way. Yeh, you’ll feel a radical change, but that’s just the beginning of a sacrificial life dependent on God.
Whether you prayed this prayer today for the first time, or to re-commit your life to Jesus, or to grow more deeply with him, find a gospel-centered, Bible-based, discipleship-focused church if you don’t already have one.
Having a faith community is essential for all Christians, whether they’ve been walking with God for many decades or just a few days. Why is there no difference between the two scenarios?
Because you WILL be under attack from the devil. He wasn’t concerned with you before, but now that you’re a Christian he will create stumbling blocks like you’ve never had. But, lucky you, God has given you this free gift called the Holy Spirit. He will guide you.
