3 Ways to Get Through It
2072 Views

We’ve all faced tough times, no doubt.  We have all awakened to days when we just weren’t sure how we would survive through until nightfall.  We’ve seen valleys so dark that no light could pierce through the deep darkness hanging over our heads, or so we thought at the time.

We’ve also faced relationship difficulties, whether romantic ones, friendships, work settings, family life, or even in church settings.  In those times the question that hangs out in the open for everyone to answer, though they may not voice it aloud, is simple:

“What now?”

Getting through those times means doing the following . . .

#1 Love through it.

When times are tough and you can’t see tomorrow ever coming around, love through it.

When that person you care about is down and out, love through it.

When you are frustrated with someone’s lack of common sense, love through it.

When you are ready to throw up your hands in a friendship that is seemingly not worth the heartbreak and hurt, love through it.

When you’ve reached a point when those who are supposed to support you, encourage you, and stand by you the most are throwing arrows at your back, love through it.  Don’t give up – love.

#2 Serve through it.

When you feel as though you’re spinning your wheels and not getting anywhere, serve through it.

When you feel as though the world doesn’t understand your mission in life, serve through it.

When you feel like no one respects you and the work you’re pouring your heart and life into, serve through it.

When the Lord has called you to something that everyone else laughs at and ridicules, serve through it.

When you feel as if you’re all alone in a cause, serve through it.  Don’t give up – serve.

#2 Live through it.

When you doubt that survival is even possible, live through it.

When you feel as though the diagnosis was too serious and too much to bear, live through it.

When you have no one to turn to but God, live through it.

When you feel as if the weight of the world is on your shoulders and you just don’t possess the strength to carry on, live through it.

When you feel like just going through the motions because you don’t have the strength or stamina to give it all you’ve got anymore, live through it.

Love covers a multitude of sins, and will never fail.  Fall on it when you think you’re being betrayed – Christ did.

Serving God isn’t always easy, and rarely ever is understood by those who aren’t serving Him.  Yet life is short and heaven is waiting – don’t forget Who you work for.

Living isn’t about surviving, it’s about thriving!  When things are going well and you think you can’t go on – pick up your head, look to the sky, and tell God you’re tired of merely surviving – you’re ready to LIVE!

That’s just a thought, and I welcome yours.

Until next time,
