“Then the LORD God called to the man, ‘Where are you?’” — Genesis 3:9
Can you imagine the God of the universe calling your name, inviting you to spend time with Him?
I can. ❤️
One of my favorite parts of the day is spending time with my Savior in prayer and Bible study first thing in the morning. I’ve learned that if I don’t protect those precious moments after waking, the busyness of the day often pushes them aside.
In the Garden of Eden, after Adam and Eve had sinned, they heard God in the garden. But instead of running toward Him, they hid among the trees. Sin and disobedience had filled their hearts with shame and fear.
God called out, “Where are you?”
He wasn’t asking because He couldn’t find them. He knew exactly where they were. His question confronted their hiding and gave them an opportunity to respond.
And His Word still calls to us today.
Perhaps life has become so busy that days have turned into weeks without meaningful time with God. Maybe you feel distant, discouraged, or even ashamed. You may wonder if you’ve drifted too far away.
But you have never drifted beyond the reach of God’s love.
The same God who called Adam in the garden sent His Son to the cross to redeem us. Jesus paid the price for our sins so that we could be forgiven and restored to a relationship with Him.
You don’t have to hide.
You don’t have to clean up your life before you come to Him.
Just answer His call.
Today, take a moment to be still. Open your Bible. Talk to your Savior. Come to Him with an honest heart, knowing that through Jesus Christ, forgiveness and restoration are possible.
When God calls, “Where are you?” will you answer Him?
