Pray.

Try that again.

Have you had those moments? You’re about to respond to someone’s post, text, or comment, and you feel it. That nudge. That pause. Your flesh wants to send it. It wants to lash out. It wants to say, “I’m going to treat you the same way you treat me.”

But the One who knows us best steps in and reminds us who we are and who we belong to.

We have a choice to make. Will we listen? Will we swallow our pride, push back against the anger, and humbly surrender? Or will we choose our own way, pushing past the restraint and charging forward with our own assault?

When Jesus was with the disciples, He was right there with them in the flesh. Often, they would ask questions, struggling to understand what Jesus meant as He spoke and taught. Jesus told them that when He left, He would send the Advocate to be with them. And it was better that He go. If He didn’t, this Advocate couldn’t come.

He was speaking of the Holy Spirit.

In the flesh, Jesus could only be in one place at one time. But by the Spirit, He could be with all believers at all times.

And heaven knows we need Him!

1 Thessalonians 5:15–19

See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing.
