PICK UP YOUR TOWEL
This is not complicated. The life of a Christian should be marked by service to others. Not just in dutiful busyness. But in humble, towel-grabbing, knee-bending, deep-down dirty work.
• The kind of serving that doesn’t need an audience.
• The kind of serving that takes us out of our comfort zone.
• The kind of serving that doesn’t wait to be asked.
• The kind of serving that is inconvenient.
• The kind of serving that requires no reciprocation.
• The kind of serving that touches individual lives.
• The kind of serving that dignifies the person.
This kind of serving is a life, not an activity.
How does this happen?
IT REQUIRES FIRST THINGS FIRST
Our first call is NOT to serve.
Our first call is to LOVE.
Not love for others—love for God.
We love God because He first loved us. He sacrificed everything for us. Until that becomes our motivation, we will never fully know how to love and serve others.
But until then…
GET BUSY.
Go serve. Put other people ahead of yourself. Just do it.
Not only will you be a blessing to others, but God WILL USE IT to stir and strengthen the love inside you.
PICK UP YOUR TOWEL.
