…Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest…”
John 4:35

In this passage, Jesus engaged in a conversation with a Samaritan woman at the well. She had just left Jesus and was on her way back to her village to share the exciting news that the Messiah had arrived.

Meanwhile, the disciples had been sent to get food. They were unaware of the spiritual harvest unfolding around them. While they were preoccupied with physical food, Jesus was deeply concerned with the spiritual.

He was telling them that the fields were ready for harvest—that people were receptive to His message and ready to embrace it.

This passage serves as a valuable lesson for the modern Christian to focus on the importance of sharing the gospel with those around us.

How many times have I overlooked an opportunity to share the good news of salvation because I was overly engrossed in the physical aspects of my life and neglected the spiritual harvest that is ripe and waiting?

Lift up your eyes. The fields are ready.
