Be Still and Learn

Be still and learn.
“But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.” — Psalm 1:2 (NKJV)

Quiet time to learn about God’s ways requires discipline. However, our daily routines demand our attention. We find ourselves overwhelmed with tasks, and the ticking clock constantly reminds us of time slipping away. Our loved ones need our care, and duties like preparing meals, washing clothes, and exercising occupy our time. When is there time for God?

It’s easy to prioritize our daily responsibilities over our quiet time with God. But the very thing we need most, hope and peace, can only be found in the Lord. He understands our exhaustion and frustration, and He feels our pain and sadness. He eagerly awaits our call for grace.

Our quiet time, spent reading Scripture and praying, is like food to our bodies. It replenishes us and expands our capacity to love others. It strengthens us for the day and empowers us to fulfill God’s purpose.

Don’t let the demands of your duties overshadow the importance of taking time for quiet reflection. Discipline yourself to set aside a few minutes each day to spend in prayer and the Word. Our hope and salvation are found in fellowship with God. Neglecting this time is perilous.

Father, help me focus on You and carve out moments from my day to spend in prayer and the Word. My desire is to fellowship with You.
