“It’s who loves you—like you live with them or you’re with them all the time because you love them.”
“They are the ones that you need, and they need you.”

I love hearing children describe things—especially in this instance: family.
What does family mean to you?
Whatever our view of our own family is—and I know it’s not the same for everyone—I think we could say that we all have this idea, this dream, of belonging to a real, loving family. One that fits that childlike mindset.
And the beautiful thing is this: that’s available to all of us when we believe in Jesus.
Ephesians 2:19
“So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family.”
Sometimes, I have to read a passage multiple times to let the reality of its words settle in.
We are part of God’s family.
He is our Father.
God.
The One who holds all power and authority.
The One who formed the mountains, the oceans, and every living thing.
The One who set every star in the sky and paints every sunrise.
God.
The One who was in the beginning—before everything.
He spoke, and things came into existence.
He breathed life into something made from dirt, and man walked.
God.
And we are His family.
Isn’t that mind-blowing?
How incredible to know that God loved us so much that He was willing to give up His only Son, Jesus Christ, so that the penalty for sin could be paid—not the sin of Jesus, because Jesus was innocent—but our sin.
He did that for us.
He showed up for us when we needed it the most.
And He shows up for us every single day.
Do you yearn for a family to love you? A place to belong? A home for your heart?
How deep the Father’s love for us!
How vast beyond all measure,
That He would give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure.
Today, I invite you to join God’s family. He offers you His open arms, ready to receive you. Will you believe? Will you trust in Him and ask Him to forgive you? Will you choose to follow Him with your life?
I want to share more with you. Jesus is ready to change your life if you’re ready to take that step of surrender.
