There was no stopping it.
The day was coming.
For a time, we went about our days carefree. But the closer it came, the anxiety started to build.
The first day of school.
Anyone else get anxious about that? I was a nervous wreck about it as a kid.
I wasn’t prepared. I didn’t have my school supplies, we hadn’t bought any school clothes, but the biggest worry of them all was not knowing where I was going.
Where would my classes be? Which rooms? Which building? My dreams turned into nightmares as “the day” drew closer. It would be halfway through the semester and I would realize I had forgotten I had a biology class and had missed so much. A test was the next day and I was going to fail because I hadn’t been to class and I wasn’t prepared.
The first day was coming, and I couldn’t stop it. I couldn’t rest until I had everything worked out.
There’s a day coming soon. One that’s been promised for centuries. There’s no stopping it. When it comes, many will be unprepared and not know where they are going.
Jesus is coming soon.
What does that mean?
For followers of Christ—those who have put their faith and trust in Him—it means going to Heaven. They have all they need in Jesus. Everything has been taken care of, and we will be with Him forever.
For those who reject Christ, refusing to recognize Him as the only way to salvation and to Heaven, they will face a different eternity.
Those who do not have faith in Jesus will not just live in Hell for eternity; it will be a place of eternal pain and suffering.
The day is coming. Is your biggest fear that you don’t know where you’re going? You won’t be able to rest until you get that worked out.
2 Corinthians 6:2
“For he says, ‘In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.’ I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.”
Now. Today. Can you feel the Spirit calling you? The guilt within you, conviction, knowing the weight of your sins, recognizing the truth about Christ always leads to the realization of ourselves.
We are sinful. We have fallen short of God’s glory and standard. Our sins must be paid for. Jesus—the perfect sacrifice—gave His life for our sins. He offers it to us. We have a choice. Will we accept His offer? Or will we deny Him?
Be prepared, the day is coming.
Romans 10:9–11
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
11 As Scripture says, ‘Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.’”
Today is the day! Believe the truth about Christ, put your faith and trust in Him! Follow Him with your life! Then, when the day comes and Jesus calls His Church home, you’ll be ready!
I want to help show you the way. Love, forgiveness, hope, joy, and security—it all comes with knowing Jesus. Let me introduce you to the truth about Jesus, what it looks like to be transformed by Him, and what it looks like to walk by His side. Follow me.
