As we’ve been studying John, we see that his man goal is to tell people about Jesus. He wants them to know the truth. He was an eye-witness and disciple of Christ. He KNEW Him and used his life to make Jesus known to the world.
And here we are, thousands of years later, reading John’s words so we, too, can know about Jesus.
But what we do with that knowledge is up to us. Do we just read it and forget it? Do we allow it to soak in but sit on it? Do we allow it to change our lives? Do we desire to tell it to others?
When I started these morning writings years ago, the very same thought was on my mind.
I just want to tell people about Jesus.
John 1:14
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
Jesus left His place beside God the Father for us.
For us.
Let that sink in for a second.
Have you seen this world? The destruction, the chaos, the evil. Why would anyone step down from their throne of glory to come here?
Love.
A love so deep and pure and desperate to save us from our own sins.
He became flesh. He became man for us. Not so that He would fit in with us, but so that He could teach us, be an example for us, and ultimately…
Die for us.
Do you get that?
He didn’t come to win the praise of men. He didn’t come to be a King – He was already a King! He came to die.
Jesus Christ died for YOU. The sinful, dirty, selfish, depressed, angry, hurtful YOU.
Knowing that, how are we going to respond?
I believe in Jesus. I know He loves me. I know He forgives me. And I know He has the power to save you, too.
Let me tell you about my Jesus and let my Jesus change your life.
