Perfectly Planned and Timed
3381 Views

We spend a lot of our time waiting for that “right moment”, don’t we?

What came to your mind when I said that? Maybe it was the time to propose to your love, or waiting for that little one to arrive. It could be like the car commercial and the perfect time to sell your minivan. Waiting on the perfect pitch to swing, the apples to turn just the ride shade to pick, the sun to rise for that special photo op – we want it to be just right. Perfectly planned and timed.

Luke 23:54-56

“And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid. And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.”

Joseph had taken Jesus’ body and laid Him in the tomb. But by the time he was done, it was too late for embalming. It was nearly the Sabbath. The women followed Joseph to see where Jesus was buried so they could return with their spices and ointments. They kept the Sabbath and would return when it was over.

They had to wait.

Isn’t it amazing at God’s perfect timing? Nothing was left to chance. He had orchestrated all of it. The time of Jesus’ death was no accident or happenstance. This was perfectly planned and timed by the Lord.

Luke 24:1-3

“Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.”

Jesus didn’t need to be embalmed, He would not remain dead. His body wasn’t meant for the grave but to rise and live!

Whatever you’re going through or waiting for, I promise you, God is at work! He doesn’t waste time. The Lord almighty is in control and time is in His hands. Trust Him.
