So many questions…

That’s how I spend my time these days. We are undergoing a switch to a new database at work and this one, while it’s going to be awesome eventually, right now, it’s overwhelming.

We have had multiple trainings where we all feel completely lost. COVID has not been helpful. We are doing all of it virtually, which makes it even more difficult.

When I start to enter something, immediately I have a question. I could just wing it and see if I make the right choice of how to enter it, but that could skew the data. What if I click the wrong thing here, or enter the wrong information there? It would mess up all future reports. As much as I want to believe I can do this on my own, I can’t. I have to stop and ask for help.

The Levites have just been dedicated for service to the Lord. A year has passed since their deliverance from Egypt and it is time once again to observe the Passover.

“And there were certain men, who were defiled by the dead body of a man, that they could not keep the passover on that day: and they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day: And those men said unto him, We are defiled by the dead body of a man: wherefore are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of the LORD in his appointed season among the children of Israel? And Moses said unto them, Stand still, and I will hear what the LORD will command concerning you.” (Numbers 9:6-8)

The men had been to a funeral and knew they were unclean because of it. According to God’s law, an unclean person was forbidden from participating in the Passover. However, it was required of all men to participate. So, the men were unsure of what to do next. They could have just attended the Passover, but would they be struck dead because of it? And what if they missed? What would happen then? They knew the only choice was to seek guidance.

Many times, we go through life with the same attitude. We are afraid to ask for help, worried that someone might think we don’t have it all together, that we are not smart, or that we can handle this on our own. We won’t reach out when we need help because we will be embarrassed to ask or feel like we are putting someone out.

Ask for help.

First and foremost, go to the Lord in prayer. Seriously. Pray about everything. Every decision. Every worry. Every question that pops into your mind, take it to the Lord in prayer.

Seek wise counsel. Talk to those that are truly rooted in God’s word and His truth. Not sure who that might be? Let me connect you to a pastor or teacher.

Questions aren’t a bad thing. Many times, as I’m asking them, they generate more questions and we realize how things might need to be altered or adjusted.

Ask. Don’t be afraid. If you have questions, you’ll never get answers if you don’t ask.
