Don’t Count God Out

Years ago, when I surrendered my will for God’s, and stopped running away from Him, my life changed dramatically. If you knew me then, I hope what you see now is a far cry from what it was before.

I had friends who weren’t necessarily opposed to the change, but they knew me. They said, “this won’t last,” and “it’s just a phase you are going through”. In my heart, I knew differently, but I didn’t know how to make them believe me.

The words I said didn’t change their perception. The only way I could make them see this was real, true and by God’s power – was to show them through my actions and attitude.

“Then the Lord spoke to Moses, ‘Go and tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the Israelites go from his land.’ But Moses said in the Lord’s presence, ‘If the Israelites will not listen to me, then how will Pharaoh listen to me, since I am such a poor speaker?’ Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron and gave them commands concerning both the Israelites and Pharaoh king of Egypt to bring the Israelites out of the land of Egypt.” (Exodus 6:10-13)

How could Moses make the Pharaoh listen when even the children of Israel wouldn’t listen to him?

How could he make everyone believe?

God said, “Just obey me, follow me, I’ll show them.”

God would use several ways to bring knowledge and understanding to the people. Through miracles such as a rod turning into a serpent, the Nile into blood, and plagues that would come through the land, God’s glory would be revealed. He would use Moses to demonstrate His awesome power, authority and true kingship over the Pharaoh of Egypt.

I truly pray that after all these years, my friends continue to see the change God created in me.

God removed my stony heart and gave me a new one.

God made me a new creation – one with desires for Him and not the things of this world.

God gave me a purpose and a mission. He gave me gifts to use to glorify Him.

If you see anything good in me, it’s only Jesus.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17

You have that choice today too.

Maybe you are like me and were saved when you were younger but drifted away from the Lord. Maybe your life looks nothing like Jesus, but today that can change.

It’s never too late for a new beginning.

You can start over.

Or maybe you’ve never given your life to Jesus. Maybe you have heard about Him, that He loves you and died for you, but you’ve never taken that step.

All it takes is full surrender to Christ.

He is our authority.

He must be Lord over our lives.

When Jesus is lifted up, we are bowed before Him, in full submission to His will and way. Why? Because it is the ONLY way!

Jesus is the only way to heaven for our eternal life! Contrary to what the world may tell you, Scripture says there is only ONE way to heaven, and it is through Jesus.
