You Don’t Have to Do it Alone
2834 Views

You are outmanned. You are outnumbered. You’re outgunned, and outsmarted. You are overwhelmed and under-qualified. You are a grasshopper in the sight of the giant before you. But do you know, friend, that though you may feel this way, these things couldn’t be farther from the Truth!

I have some friends right now that are carrying heavy loads. Their hearts are heavy and weighed down with burdens that are entirely too big for any one person to carry on their own. They feel like the light at the end of the tunnel is dim and fading. God gave me three words this morning just for you: Lay it down.

There’s nothing shameful about admitting we’re not strong enough to do it alone. There’s nothing wrong about admitting that help is needed. As a matter of fact, there’s a certain measure of honesty involved in throwing up your hands and surrendering to the God who waits through it all to lift you back up.

We’re never outmanned when we belong to the Creator of the universe.

We’re never outnumbered when we are surrounded by the “great cloud of witnesses” spoken of in Hebrews who are cheering us on.

We’re never outgunned when we are being guarded by the host of heavenly guardians.

We’re never outsmarted when we are trusting in the God of all wisdom.

We’ll never be overwhelmed when we’re finding our strength and supply in Him.

We’re definitely not under qualified if He’s called us His own and promised to “supply all our needs according to His riches in glory.”

And a grasshopper? Are you serious? Maybe this giant hasn’t yet seen the Almighty God whose hand we are currently sitting in!

So, friend, if you’re reading this today from a place of tremendous odds and uphill struggles, please hear this: God already knows. He loves you. He longs for you to lay it down before Him and surrender the battle into His arms.

That doesn’t mean you won’t have to make some tough decisions or exercise strength in hard times. But what it does mean is that you won’t be doing any of it alone.

He’ll hold you up, and He’ll send folks to help hold you up. The relief comes – the help comes – the joy comes – when you lay it down. And, speaking of surrender, if you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus and accepted his free gift of salvation, do so today and know the grace is that is greater than your sin, and I’m talking about ANY and ALL sin.

That’s just a thought, and I welcome yours.

Until next time,

blake
