Jesus is King of All

Several years ago, after Donald Trump had won the election, I heard many celebrities make a statement, “he’s not my president.” And the same happened just a few years later when Biden was elected President. Multiple people flocked to this phrase and declaration.

But that’s all it was.

No matter how they felt, no matter if they liked him or not, he was the President of the United States of America. They were a citizen of the US and they were under his authority.

John 19:18-20
“Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.
19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
20 This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.”

Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.

The chief priests were furious that Pilate would write this. They had denied Him as their King. They said, “no! He’s not our king. Don’t write that! Instead, write “He said, ‘I am the King of the Jews.’”

Pilate responded, “what I have written, I have written.”

And there it was. Written in Hebrew for those that were Jewish. Written in Greek for foreigners and visitors. And in Latin for the Romans. It encompassed all.

It didn’t matter if they said He wasn’t their King or not. Even the writing on the sign declared the truth, Jesus was King over all.

Philippians 2:8-10
“And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

We can deny Jesus as our King. We can refuse to submit to His authority and to serve Him here on this earth. We could say “He’s not my King” all we want, but the truth is…

Jesus is the King of all.

All.

And as these verses declare, we will ALL one day bow before the one and true King, Jesus. There will be no doubt who is King.

But what you decide today will determine your future with the King.

He has invited us into His court. He has extended His scepter to us and given us a chance to live, an opportunity to serve, a beautiful gift of salvation through His Son Jesus Christ.

Will we take it and honor our King? Will we submit to His authority in our lives today? Or will we refuse, denying the King and His gift?

Jesus is King of all. Choose wisely.
