Never feels not long enough,
As her soul stretches out its withered hand.
“Where are you when I need you?” she cries,
Her legs won’t hold her, or she’d stand.

Can your promises be true for her,
Even in her unbelief?
Oh yes, Your promises are most fertile,
When they are saturated with our grief.

“I’m here,” you whisper between her cries,
“I’ve never left your side.
“I’ve said I’ll never forsake you,
And never would I lie.”

Never is long enough,
For her soul’s outstretched hand.
Never pulls her to her feet.
Never forsaken, she stands.
