Scripture
The Word of God cannot be used to justify wickedness or advance wicked causes. #daybydaylw Interested in learning more about becoming a devoted follower of Christ? Go to follow.lifeword.org! ~~~ It is not just those who rebel against God’s word, judgment also falls hard on those who misuse God’s word for their own agenda. Notice what Rechab and Banaah said to David in 2 Samuel 4:8, as Ish-bosheth’s head dripped blood from their hands? “The Lord has avenged my lord the king this day…” In other words, Rechab and Banaah knew the word of God, and attempted to twist it in order to achieve their own gain. They thought that the goal, a Davidic kingdom, justified any means necessary to bring it about, including the murder of Ish-bosheth. They used the word of God to justify their wicked actions. The kingdom of God does not advance on the tracks of unjust means.
