Scripture

Ephesians 2:8-10

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

We are saved by grace and that means we don’t have to, and can’t work our way to heaven. We have new purpose, we were made to do good works, not to work our way to heaven but because we love Jesus so much that we want to live for him and our heart desires to serve him.
